As teaching aids, blog has some advantages, challenges and technique in using this multimedia. All of them are different in every country. For example in our country, sometimes blog is using by teacher in several schools and colleges. Teacher will ask students to make a blog. The blog can be used as a media to share the ideas, opinion even their feeling. It is also can be used as a media to submit some assignments from the teacher. We can take advantage of blog; first, we can share to everybody about life, opinion, ideas, and many things. In English educational, we can improve our vocabulary and practice our writing skill. But we have to be more creative so we can introduce our blog to the world. That’s one of the challenges of using blog because we have to find the connection so that everybody can invite our blog.
From Argentina, Rita said that language is one of a tool for communication. We can use blog to practice our language especially improve our English, because blog is a tool for communication that is cheaper, faster and comprehensive. By using blog, we can experience and contact all over the world by sending messages, chatting, and taking photograph.
From Brazil, Carla said that to make community understanding and become closer, we can use blog. She used blog by giving project or making interaction sharing in the class. But the difficulty is how to keep interaction high so the students can express themselves more and have extra practice of English.
While in Taiwan, blog is used by teacher for helping their performance in the class. Teacher asks the students to watch the video recording that can be uploaded online then evaluate it. A chain of teaching and learning process by using blog can improve their vocabulary and practice their writing skill.
There are so many benefits of blog as teaching aids beside the challenges and technique to use this media. As a future teacher, we can use this media to help our performance in the class.
